We would be grateful if donations can be provided in a clean and washed condition if possible.  While we have the facility to steam clothing, we don't have the facility to wash and dry.  Any items that are not suitable to be re-used or sold in the charity shop, will be sent for recycling via a third party organisation. (See our Environmental Objectives for further details)

Our opening hours for making donations are:  Monday to Friday - 10am to 3pm  We are sorry that we cannot accept donations outside of these hours.

Items we cannot accept

We apologise in advance, but there are certain items that we cannot accept, and in fact will cost us to dispose, so please do not be offended if we refuse the following and ask you to take them away again.

  • Items of furniture : We do not have the space to store or display furniture for sale. Try local gifting pages where domeone will collect from you and put your item to good use
  • White Goods : We don't have the facility to store or transport washing machines, fridges etc.
  • Pillows, Duvets, Cushions : Cleaning these items before resale is both costly and difficult to co-ordinate, and we find that the majority of people don't like to buy these items second hand.  Try local dog kennels as they may accept them from you.
  • VHS Videotapes : These are not able to be resold these days.
  • Dirty, Damaged or Mouldy items : Whether clothing, paintings or any other item that cannot be cleaned.
  • Broken items : Chipped, cracked or faded items that cannot be resold.
  • Toys and games with missing parts : For obvious reasons, these are not able to be resold
  • Cycle, motorbike or any other safety helmets : We are unable to check whether they are damaged or safe for another individual to use, so we don't accrpt them on a safety basis.
  • Baby and Child Car Seats : We cannot guarantee the safety of anyone using these in the future, and the charity could be liable for any injuries sustained.
  • Underwear of any kind
